here was never an “Angel” young-adult book line, but Craig Shaw Gardner’s “Dark Mirror” (April 2004) gives a sense of what those books would be like. This is a simplified view of the Angelverse without much interest in continuity or accurate characterizations, and with a cartoonishly big evil that’s hard to take seriously.

‘Buffy’ flashback: ‘Return to Chaos’ (1998) (Book review)

“Return to Chaos” (December 1998), the second novel of the adult “Buffy” series, Craig Shaw Gardner – in his only “Buffy” entry — gets to a lot of concepts before the TV show does. That makes the book an interesting historical curiosity, but it also means it hasn’t aged particularly well.
