“Insomnia” — The latest from “Memento” mastermind Christopher Nolan stars Al Pacino as good L.A. cop who ventures closer to the dark side with each corner he cuts in his pursuit of murderer Robin Williams in Alaska. What makes this journey into the dark recesses of human nature different from most is that Pacino’s character seems well aware of what’s happening and has to decide for himself where to draw the line.
