“8MM” – “Seven” writer Andrew Kevin Walker returns to the seedy side of human nature, using the underground porn industry as a metaphor. Nicolas Cage delivers a riveting performance as a detective obsessed with finding people responsible for a snuff film showing an apparent murder. In his search for the meaning of evil, he treads along the dark road himself without knowing it. Director Joel Schumacher crafts subtly effective visuals to go with the dark subject matter.
