1. Do you ever get a Facebook friend request from someone you’ve never heard of? I usually just ignore it. This is kind of unfortunate, because now I have no chance of becoming friends with that person (I certainly won’t get to know them outside of Facebook). And I would probably end up liking them more than some of my current Facebook friends. But because of the off chance that they might be the Facebook Killer, I don’t approve the request. It’s a sad age we live in.

2. Here’s a tip for the next time you’re alphabetizing your CDs: Leave five times as much space for the S’s as you do for any other letter.

3. I recently had a vague memory about drinking champagne with my friends before going to a party in high school. Then I realized it didn’t happen to me, it happened to Brandon Walsh on an episode of “Beverly Hills 90210.” What’s particularly odd is that I saw that episode for the first time in 2008 on SoapNet, 12 years after I graduated from high school.

4. There are a lot of emotional songs on the VH1 “Top 20 Video Countdown,” with artists such as Daughtry — or someone else from “American Idol” — looking all sad and serious about love gone wrong. I can never connect with those songs. I’m just like, “Too bad for you, but I don’t really care.” Meanwhile, Daughtry is absolutely pouring his heart out on the small screen. Does that make me a bad person?

5. Twenty years from now, we are going to laugh at the cell-phone ringtones of the 2000s the same way we now laugh at hairstyles of the ’80s. Personally, I have my cell phone set to that old-style ring from the Alexander Graham Bell days. Sometimes when it rings people will give me a confused look and say, “Is that your phone?” But if AC/DC’s “Hell’s Bells” or John Williams’ theme from “Superman” suddenly started blasting from my pants pocket, everyone would immediately understand I had an incoming call.
